cant talk. bioshock.

Filed under: mc chris — @ 4:51 am

im assembling my songs for tomorrow night’s show in johnson city. i found some fun stuff. there will be one new remix. hopefully i will be getting more stuff on the road and maybe even try out some of the new songs. new dates are popping up everyday. there’s a show in connecticut and albany before the pinback run starts up. we’re still carving up dates for the rest of the country. i may or may not have posted potential dates some where on my message board but you’d have to be some kind of crazy internet detective to find it.

and yes im waiting for the sun to go down so i can play bio shock. i think it’s great. sometimes it helps you too much, and i just heard people are reporting bugs, well my report is bugless. then again i cruised the first level having played at intern johnny’s place. there are also rumors of the internet population being offended by the lack of feet. i have no problems with that either. i dont like how many powers you have i’d rather upgrade five core ones, but it’s cool to see what they come up with. i hate taking pictures of anything in any game (see dead rising) so im not all into that, but the look is straight up disney. meaning everything’s really stylized, like the ride 20,000 leagues, fun to play during a rainy week. the sun came out yesterday afternoon and with it the heat. the end of my mini fall within august.

i always thought water looked awesome on the 360 and that it was its best feature. so it’s cool to see them go crazy. to run down stairs alongside a flood. and let it be known that this soundtrack kicks major ass, glen miller, the ink spots. all this old great stuff, it kicks ass to kill zombie people to the old timey jams. everything looks, great, gameplay is fluid and i rescue the little girls, i dont harvest them.

i sat down with the fellow that wanted to make books. we have different ideas but i was basically like i can do whatever you want. what i thought would be a whole book may be just be a chapter. i have no idea how im gonna write it while i write the album and tour. but i will try. it’s gonna be a guide. of some sort. why i’d write is beyond me, but it will be fun to try something literary and defeatist, even if its a uncle john’s reader, register impulse buy kinda thing. i would really love to do anything, and it looks like i’ll be needing nate.

oh and you must see king of kong. you’ve prolly read about it. johnny depp being in the film adaptation etc. its poster is kinda bad and it prolly will get a nil release. but it along with black book is one of my favorite movies of the year. the villian is the best villian i’ve seen in years. and the hero is so true and good and the wife is so awesome (a dream wife with the support she gives and you know it’s against her intuition) all the characters except the hero are so desperate to maintain their retro biosphere. it’s great to watch it come crumbling down. usually i dont like docs that laugh at people. here though you laugh at the villain and the hero is avenged.

here’s a trailer:http://www.apple.com/trailers/picturehouse/kingofkong/trailer/

i had to kill another mouse. i think it’s because of the construction pits that are popping up across the street and two doors down. the construction is everywhere. i realized this morning it’s white noise at this point and if it stopped it might get my attention. i think the mices are losing their underground hovels. i got a new mouse guard btw. comics have been sucking. is the only comic that’s good right now, thor? really? oh brother.

so i got everything ready for tomorrow. well i have to print out the map, but the merch is sorted. i’m just gonna go on my own, no roadie. i’ve never done that. i think it will be fun.

i tacked up all the new songs on my bulletin board here in brooklyn. about 25 ideas. and i’ve got an hour of new music. i met with the two guys helping me make new beats. gave them a little bit of an idea of what i’m up to. it’s exciting. i really really really hope i get something done on the road. i never have before. cuz u cant write in the van. i want to write it long hand. i started getting into the habit of writing the first thing in the morning, when im happiest. we’ll see what happens. its time to write write write.

here’s jim henson’s time piece, it’s how my life feels:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=HrAVgYTTMbQ

and here are two rollercoaster movies of rides i wanna ride. i watch rides on utube pretty much all the time. i checked out the yeti ride (eh) the new winnie the pooh (it’s a mockery of justice.) it’s nice to see they put a wild ride toad in haunted mansion graveyard. that reopens this fall with all these improvements. cooool. did you know that “enchanted” the first fully animated disney cartoon (albeit with primarily live action) was outsourced because they fired all their animators and ditched the desks. ha. did you know that the french haunted mansion is called phantom manor? awesome! and i want to go to universal studios themepark in tokyo and see the beetlejuice show in japanese!

The Mother of All Gigs

Filed under: hipster please — @ 3:11 pm

Yesterday I dropped some knowledge concerning the myriad of nerdy musical events going down this weekend, but today – oh today, dear readers – I offer a little insight into an extra special gig this very evening.

Tonight Seattle’s High Dive plays host to a collection of nerdcore heavy hitters that… well… suffice it to say that it yet again has me lamenting my rural eastern locality.

Here’s the details I have so far:

-It’ll be 9PM @ Backspace
-I have no idea how much tickets/cover are but I’d venture that it’ll be $5-10. That’ll probably be free if you’re a backspace member.
-I think it’ll be all ages. Not sure though.

to whomever thinks i’m spamming craigslist

the only time i’ve ever been to craigslist was when i clicked on some outrageous tranny hooker linked from a forum or someone selling something equally hilarious, which would also have been linked from a forum.

in a nutshell, pretty much the only thing i know about craigslist is that it is a place for hookers and penis pumps, sort of like a red light district ebay.

p.s. for more info, please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_job. it has happened to me over 9000 times.
also, if someone could please link me to the posts where i’m supposedly doing this, i’d appreciate it.

Plan accordingly

Of course everyone knows that August 24th -26th marks this years Penny Arcade Expo in Bellevue, WA, and if three full days of dork debauchery somehow wasn’t enough you also get two evenings of geek-tastic music!

The Friday night concert welcomes Freezepop and the OneUps to the PAX musical fold, as well as returning favorites Optimus Rhyme

autobeat allies-

it’s hard to believe that another summer is drawing to a close.  many of us in the blustery pacific northwest feel it never really happened this year.  at any rate, its been a stellar season for the optimus.  we are commemorating it with a video clip from audio-beat allie number one, jarod.  he was on hand with his awesome mics and camcorder to capture us as we went acoustic for the first time ever.  the event was a little concert at 1077 the END’s beach house, and for the occasion we welcomed a new member to the family with banjo(!) in hand, Clawblaster.

Enjoy the youtube clip on our page and peep the whole set (and grimROCK’s bad hair day) at…
