September was when Rolling Doubles was suppose to be out. But with an increasing work schedule, an increased show schedule, and my involvement with The Grammar Club, Rolling Doubles has been delayed. But with the album nearly complete, I feel why not drop a little info about what tracks will be featured on my second album.
Olly Olly Oxen Free
This was one of the first beats T-Byte sent me. It just pops at you and is really sweet and short and a perfect little intro track. I got it while I was in Portland and wrote the song right there on my laptop and recorded it as soon as I got back home.
Tilt
This was the first song completed for the album. Doc Pop and I talked about it back when we were in Portland planning out The Mediocre Tour and he suggested doing a mixtape of songs about arcade gaming, and this is what I came up with. We actually worked on the beat while on the road during the tour.
Table Top
You’ve heard it, I love it, and T-Byte is a God.
Play With Me [f. Bethzilla]
One day at a show I joked around with Bethzilla and told her I should get her on a track. Funny thing is she was down for it. I sent her a beat I found online, she sent me her lyrics for the chorus, and I wrote the verses based on the hook. It turned out dope, and with this new remixed version by T-Byte, I think it’s going to sound even better.
Ball Pit
This is already a handful of my friends’ favorite song. It’s a sweet little song and sounds way different than anything else I’ve done, and it helps that Doc Pop is an amazing artist as well.
Disconnect [f. ytcracker]
This is the song I just finished. ytcracker hasn’t even written his verse yet, but I’m confident. This might be the most high energy song I’ve ever done. T-Byte has worked with both myself and yt before, but I don’t think either of us have ever done something so pumped up before.
Last Minute Gig
This is my anthem to bad shows. T-Byte on the beat, Beefy with the words, and the bad experiences.
Dork Date
This is the song I wanted Feel So Good to be. It’s a sweet song about nerd love and since Feel So Good was what I was trying to improve on, it only made sense to do it to a Doc Pop beat.
You Can Call Me Beef
I just started writing this song before I knew what it was about. I just told myself, “I wanna make an mc chris song that just has a bunch of references but doesn’t really tell a story.” I also wanted T-Byte to throw in some effects like he did for MC Router’s “Control Panel.” You’ve heard it on the ol’ MySpace, and I hope ya dig it.
Television Station
This is the last song to be written for the album. I actually started writing to the classic rock influenced T-Byte masterpiece last night. Basically, if you’ve heard the stuff I reference in my music, you know I love TV. This song will just cement that fact into your mind grapes.
1337ology [f. MC Router]
I like to think that there is a science to being the kinds of badasses Router and myself are. That science is called 1337ology. We have PhDs on the subject. Doc Pop crafted the beat, and me and Router put on a somewhat hyphy influenced lecture.
Diss Missed
You’ve heard this. T-Byte cooked up a sick beat that wasn’t fit for my usual brand of happiness, so I had to take it the other way and give some internet kids what they’ve been begging for. The album version will be a little different and a little updated, but it’ll still be fun.
Story Time
Sometimes I like to tell stories. Some about growing up. Some about love. Some about friendship. This has bits of all those stories. The beat is by T-Byte, and like wonderfulamazing before it, it’s an emotional end to the album.
Also there is a bonus hidden track, but it’s hidden, so you don’t get to know what it it. lawl.
