Hi ho, happy Stumblebee here, kicking back in the hive and reflecting on the tour. I hastily typed out a blog before our Knitting Factory appearance while Powerthighs tried to stuff all the towels in his carryon bag. We got him to wait until after the show so we had to leave immediately. Thusly we didn’t have time to fool around trying to keep the unwitting neighbor’s fussy wifi connection open long enough to squirt the blogatazoa included below into the all enveloping internet. Here now edited only slightly are Stumble’s raw thoughts from April 26th before our LA show – a snapshot in time! I was so young, so full of optimism. I never could have known what was to actually take place that night; suffice it to say we were up very late and very probably made a particular all night donut shop clerk feel a little more edgy about his shift, alone on a stretch of highway.

Greetings from the the Hollywood Days Inn! The Optimus is winding down on the Secrets From the Future tour with a show tonight that will make or break us in front of an untold number of industry folk, celebrity nerds, and perhaps even Scarlett Johannson. Probably not Scarlett.

Our first swing into California has been peppered with events; running into local Seattle superstars Smoosh in San Francisco, giant burritos, Ma Frontalot buying us dinner in Berkley, violent waves full of stones at Capistrano beach, and Fancy Lance Lossless getting coldcocked by some ne’er-do-wells in the back parking lot of a San Diego IHOP. Also we left quite a few empty 40’s in the La Quinta room we occupied last night, not that we condone or recommend drinking in excess OR malt liquor. STAY IN SCHOOL!

As we feel the Secrets… tour wane like that mighty queen of the night sky, the moon, we feel a little sad, a little weary, a little dyspeptic, and a lot lucky for having taken part in this amazing nationwide blitzgeek that is the Secrets From the Future tour (more like BLITZED geek! haw). I’d like to sum it all up with a powerful saying or quote but I need to pound this beer (TREAT YOUR MOMMA RIGHT!) and get to the Knitting Room for soundcheck, all while trying to keep Grimrock from finding a “gentleman’s club” to spend all our merch money in.

as MC Lars and so many other MCs say

PEACE!
