SORRY SIR PARK’S CLOSED MOOSE SHOULDA TOLDJA

this morning i was up early stoked to go to magic mountain. for the second time it was closed but we didnt know until we pulled up to the gate, major sadness. so we went to wallmart and i looked at legos. bought the revenge of cobra dvd pack. and a plastic jackolantern to fill with candy. you donate to cystic fibrosis get some candy! i also got some masks all devil masks. i wonder if the next album will ever come out. let me explain why.

i woke up the day before and sent off a ton of emails, asking LA peeps to the show. i decided to invite khaki jones from cartoon network, a friend from company cocktail parties in the atl. she now does development for cartoon network (or maybe she always did) and she recently relocated. and i wrote her and was like you should come see the show, and id love to tell you about battle hi and what im about to start working on.  she was like come on in or give me a call. anthony, the super tm, got me there with two minutes to spare. before i knew it i was pitching my cartoon. i had spent the last hour in the car writing notes on my phone so i knew what i wanted to say. it just went so smooth and it was all relaxed. there was no art, no big presentation. i just told her the idea, who it’s aimed at, and then we looked at my store at indie merch store.com, looked at what mc chris looks like in cartoon form. she asked for a treatment or plot summary and said that if they liked it we could go into production on the pilot and they would finance it. i kinda had it set in my head i would finance the pilot with touring. we both talked about making an adult swim lite show with music aimed at 12 year old boys. hopefully it will be something that works on the entire family. like the muppet show. making a dragonball z rap musical is a risky move, but there’s something deep inside of me that says its gonna work. anyhow i couldnt believe that i just put myself in that office and just pitched. she laughed at my idea of coming back in a year to REALLY pitch with a finished pilot under my arm. the idea of not touring next spring and working on this thing is what i want. i want it. real bad. and when she said she’d finance the pilot i just looked at her like, no way, double blink. are you serious? it was a great meeting. im stoked.

to add awesomeness to awesomeness. i told her how much i loved flapjack, oh really let’s go up two floors and walk through the flapjack offices, meet the creator, mark van orman. he actually reminded me of me. short high voice. and he kinda sounded like flapjack. i was such a fanboy. embarrassing but i try to stay excited about life. i couldnt believe that i got to meet him and then see them working on a storyboard session. with a hundred post it notes. who woulda thought? everyone had wacom tablets but no screen cyntiqs. i felt like a spy taking pics. then they gave me two flapjack shirts and an apple. (and i love apples.) and jay from the atl show me his expensive millenium falcon. it was COOL.

after that i got to have to dinner with my brother and his daughters. julia was all about coloring and spelling. martha was all about whats up with school and what books she was all about. julia still had her katy perry shades, and martha wore her special pink mc chris transformers hoodie. dont you wish you had one? she’s my god child so she gets special treatment. my bro was ripped off yoga and stoked to teach some little first graders. my brothers are really smart guys and i would any student would be lucky to hear whatever they had to say. i know i was lucky. oh and what’s super funny all three wayans brothers were eating right next to us. they’re vegan. who knew. my brother and i found a new thing in common, our mutual need to feel like birds, only difference being, he prefers motorcycles and monogamy and i prefer rollercoasters and promiscuity.

the show was a clunker but soooo much fun. i was in such a good mood nothing could touch me. the audience and i had a great time. i was so happy to tell them about my meeting and the wayans brothers. it was one of those crazy awesome days. of course there was a 2 in it.

tonight it’s anaheim. ten bucks say it will be even more fun than yesterday. everyone rejoice we are one step closer to battle hi becoming a REALITY!!!!

ps. here are the pics i took. still gettin used to the iphone cam. the pics of the two brothers with thumbs up were fans at this place called gayles in capitola. i have been running into so many fans its scary. i went to this little hard ware store to buy a fan and the girl rang me up was at the show the night before. it’s been like that.

PLEASE REPLY IN BLOG OR I WILL GO BACK TO SADNESS MODE.
