Front has ruined his back (again) and will have to miss most of FOO Camp this weekend, but he’s still planning to stop in on Saturday and do a little low-key rapping for the assembled nerd world order. Then it’s lots of resting so that PAX can feature a robust assorment of herky-jerky dance moves!

Stop whatever you’re doing and send an email to vote for Doggy Fresh to appear on a mural in Front’s neighborhood. He’s candidate number 32. We’ve filled most of it out for you, but you should include a unique sentence or two to prove that we have not forced robots to vote in our stead.

Front and friends did their duty warming up the edge of Ozzy’s stage at Blizzcon. A fine time, had by all! Now they languish briefly in Brooklyn before heading west again for PAX. Even before then, you will find Front at O’Reilly FOO Camp, if you are fancy enough to attend.

Bl4k Lotus, the mean green bass playin’ machine and Frontal bandmember, lives an alternate (by which we mean non-nerdcore) life as an indie rock superstar called Brandon Patton. His brand new album Underhill Downs is available as of today, and you should go buy it from him before something terrible happens to Internet and you can’t buy it any more! That is all.

Inglourious Foam Party

Ultraklystron

So, for the first time in forever, Nursehella and I caught a movie together (well, Hella’s friend April also came along, but to me the key point was finally seeing a movie with Hella for the first time since the last Pirates of the Caribbean,) namely Tarentino’s Inglourious Basterds. As expected, it had Tarantino’s usual blend of indulgent film references and over-the-top violence, though seeing that brutality applied to Nazis? Way better, as you have absolutely no sympathy for any of the characters being wrecked up (consider it the opposite of Kill Bill in that regard.) Normally, one wouldn’t laugh at a man’s corpse being desecrated with entire clip from a machine gun, but when the corpse is… well, I don’t want to spoil it, but lets just if WWII had played how Tarantino dreamed it, it would have been a vastly more satisfying result. I mean, the theater was cheering by the end of the flick.

However, rather than just settle for having seen an excellent movie, we also went to a foam party at the Element in Castlegar. The music wasn’t too hot, but it was amusing to see people try to enter and exit the foam. There is a viral video in filming that I think. Anyways, I wasn’t dressed for the occasion, but it was fun to get a little dancing in and talk to some of Hella’s old friends. Good times.

Forums, MMA, and a Review. Oh My!

I might be asking for trouble, but I put a forum on the site. Yeeeeah baby. Basically it’ll be there to better give you guys updates if ya want em or wanna drop science re: nerdcore or JALP or whatevers. You can visit the forum right here. Peep the logo at the top left. That took all kinds of work. For reals… no it didn’t. Damnit.

I’ve made jokes with jokes with Jones before about MMA, and I just wanna make it clear. Fans of MMA: Usually hilarious idiots. MMA itself: Kinda badass. How can you not love a sport where dudes are encouraged to slam their knees into other people’s faces? Our new friends at Martial Mix in Australia made a dope ass promo vid using The Grammar Club’s “Red Cyclone.” It’s kinda really cool.

Last but not least, my good friend MC Lars just dropped a new EP with his good friend and talented rapper K.Flay.

Single and Famous hosts seven tracks with topics ranging from kid parties to running trains on chicks. For reals. I’m in love with the hook on “Running Trains.” It’s ill. We all love Lars. That’s established. He always brings the good times. The highlight of this album is the introduction of K.Flay. I know she’s been doing her own thing for a while, but this is exposing her to a billion more people and that’s a great thing. She is not at all nerdcore. Neither is Lars for that matter. But they both groove in their different ways and spit rhymes that will please people that check out this site for sure. Some of the concepts and topics of the album aren’t as varied as we’ve seen previously from Lars, but you can tell a lot of fun went into creating it. The single “Single and Famous” is however a banger and I didn’t want it to end. The video is hotness too. Check it out.

I clearly need to move to the Bay Area. You can just break shit over there it looks like. Anywho, the best part of the EP is that for the mp3s it’s only $3 and you can download em right away. It’s a beautiful kinda thing. Check it out right the F now. Do it. Rapido!

Also, on a personal note, With Sprinkles (the new album I’m working on) will officially feature Doctor Awkward. Dude is dope. Also slated to show up on tracks (though, ya never know) are MC Lars, YTCracker, Dual Core, Zealous 1, and Epic-1. It’s happening. Just much slower than I’d like.

-love beefy.

Zombie Meme Becomes Mainstream

“Civilisation would most likely be finished in the event of a zombie outbreak, claim Canadian mathematicians who have calculated the possible devastation caused by an attack by the fictional monsters.”

There is a cat on Twitter. Well, there’s probably a number of them, but this one is the most-followed one, and his name is Socks, and he belongs to Front’s pal Jason, and so here’s a little theme song for the cat, to celebrate the millionth follower that the cat got on Twitter, and also probably the apocalypse is coming, but there will have to be another theme song for that, later. UPDATE! Jason’s video.

Frontalot, the rapper about whom this web site’s news post reports, is about to go to Anaheim for Blizzcon! If you’ve already secured entry, make sure you come see him and his band. They’ll be doing 15-minute sets all Friday afternoon, in between mainstage events, and a disco number in the dance competition that evening. If you can’t make it, we hear the whole thing’s going out on satellite teevee.

Speaking of cons, PAX is pretty soon, too, isn’t it? Please note that Frontalot’s set is happening in the Friday concert this year. And! Kingdom of Loathing has got a con coming up, for which Front and crew will perform a special faux-unplugged set. There’s details on the KoL forums.

Hey, did you see Front and Lars babbling about webcomics? Thank goodness it was captured on film by G4.

Commissions: There’s a cat, and he is named Sockington, and he belongs to established Frontalot homie Jason Scott, and he (the cat) has now got one million followers on Twitter, and that is ridiculous, and for all these reasons here is a theme song.
